MBB Loves Matthew
Mary Beth Benison passed away from ALS on May 3, 2015. On May 4, 2015 her nephew Matthew Corso had gone off to school while our family began planning for Mary Beth's services. While at school Matthew started to experience chest pains and shortness of breath. At first we thought it might have been anxiety/stress from losing Marybeth, but we quickly learned it was a serious problem. Matthew was experiencing heart failure and was rushed to Boston Children's Hospital where he ended up having to stay or more than a month.
Mary Beth was a loving and caring aunt to all of her nieces and nephews. She and Matthew shared a special bond and she would have been heartbroken to know what Matthew went through. On July 12th, the Mary Beth Benison Foundation, in honor of Matthew, began its partnership with Binkeez for Comfort, funding a program to deliver Binkeez on a monthy basis to the Pediatric Cardiac ICU at Boston Children's Hospital.
